CONCORD — On June 7, NHTI Visual Arts major Bonnie Farren of Concord became the first visual artist to receive an award from the Plan New Hampshire Scholarship and Fellowship Program. She was recognized, along with fellow award recipients, at a dinner held in their honor at the Susan McLane Audubon Center in Concord, co-hosted by the NH chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Bonnie's winning proposal is an earth-works sculpture project that promotes direct human connection with the landscape by creating a seating center of softly rolling grass-covered mounds. "Sounds like a perfect project for the MacRury/Farnum corner of the NHTI Quad," says NHTI Visual Arts Deptartment Head Susan Haas. "A small amphitheater, easily maintained with a mower, creating visual interest in an otherwise flat plane."
