PTK Spring Induction Ceremony

CONCORD — NHTI - Concord's Community College’s Alpha Upsilon Omicron chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (PTK) hosted an induction ceremony on the evening of May 9th, in the Concord Orthopaedics Auditorium in Grappone Hall. The chapter celebrates its thirteenth year at NHTI.

Interim President Dr. Cathryn Addy welcomed eight new members and acknowledged their accomplishment.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international scholastic honor society with a mission to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service, and fellowship. PTK members are eligible to apply for millions of dollars in scholarships each year. Invitations to join PTK are sent only to students with a 3.5+ grade-point average after completing 12 or more credit hours of college-level work; they must be currently enrolled, and pursuing an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree. Established in 1910, Phi Theta Kappa is the oldest and largest academic honor society in the world.

Alpha Upsilon Omicron Chapter co-advisors Trisha Dionne and Deborah Remillard inducted the following new Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society members during the candle lighting ceremony: Cassandra Baldinger, Nicholas Dube, Heike Schmid, Hannah Halka, Miles Leno, Sarah Morin, and Richard Nowlin.

Chapter officers for the 2018-2019 include president Madyn Kenney, vice president Dana DeMore, secretary Ashley Buchanan, and historian Rebecca Cozzi.
